What hot tub to buy

Hot tubs and swim spas are not cheap items to buy and that’s why you’ll want to be certain that you’re getting one that fits your lifestyle and includes any features that you require. In this blog, we’re helping you to decide what hot tub to buy.

Hot tub or swim spa?

A big decision you’ll have to make is whether you’ll want a hot tub or a swim spa. Both options offer high levels of relaxation and they are great for various reasons. Swim spas are often much bigger and therefore require a large space for fitting. In comparison, while hot tubs do still need a fair bit of space, you can still get a good size tub and have room to relax elsewhere in your garden. When making this decision, you should really consider what you’ll be using your hot tub or swim spa for. Swim spas are manufactured to cater for those wanting to perform sports and various exercises as well as relaxing, whereas hot tubs are designed purely for relaxation purposes.

How many seats do I need?

After deciding whether it’s a swim spa or a hot tub that you’d like, you will need to work out how many seats you require. Hot tubs have the most variation on seating arrangements, ranging from around 3 seats to 7! As well as deciding on the number of seats, you’ll want to look into loungers. Loungers are a great extra to consider and they are likely to enhance your relaxation experience. Swim spas have plenty of space so there’s no need to make sure you’ve got enough room for the family.

How many jets would I like?

Jets may not seem of high importance to you but due to their incredible muscle relaxation abilities, you’ll want to make sure that you get a tub with the right amount of jets for you. Hot tubs range from around 17 jets all the way up to 72! In comparison, swim spas range from around 20 up to 50 jets. Many people choose to purchase a swim spa due to its versatility of being able to exercise and then enjoy a relaxing soak with the jets on. Others decide they’d rather have less room and more jets for the ultimate massage.

Which features do I want?

Hot tubs and swim spas come with some incredible features, as well as the ability to add others on at a cost. Some available add ons may include a Bluetooth Sound System, comfort pillows, LED lighting and WiFi controls. It is important to remember that some of these features may not be available as add ons for all hot tub models. For some models, these features will come as standard, so it’s important to do your research and work out what will work best to suit your needs.

How much do I want to spend?

Due to hot tubs and swim spas being known as luxury items to own, it’s no surprise that they come at a cost. With that being said, there’s no reason to say that your hot tub or swim spa has to break the bank. It’s definitely a good idea to do your research and ensure that other features such as delivery and installation are available from the place you choose to purchase your hot tub or swim spa from.

Purchasing a hot tub should be an exciting time, therefore you must conduct research into the features you desire and really have a good look at the companies that you may be purchasing from. Ensure that you check reviews and ask others so that you know you’re using a reputable company. At The Hot Tub Superstore, we have a wide range of hot tub and swim spa models available and are always happy to help, so give us a call if you need us.
